New Driver FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

Can you guarantee that I will pass my test?

We cannot guarantee that you will pass your driving test. Our driving school structures your driving lessons to teach you the skills that you need to be a successful driver, but we cannot say that you will always drive the way you’ve been taught, or that your nerves may get the best of you on road test day.

Do my parents need to add me onto their insurance when I get my permit?

No. You do not need to be named on their insurance policy until you are an official “Licensed” driver; or if you turn 18 years of age while still a permit holder.

Items required to obtain your learner’s permit:

  • Your original birth certificate, a U.S. passport or any proof of your legal status in the U.S. NJMVC will NOT accept copies!
  • The NJMVC test score (formerly known as ‘blue card). If you haven’t taken Drivers Ed in school yet or didn’t pass the test, you will be able to take the exam in our office at no additional cost.
  • Social Security number: or waiver letter from the Social Security office.
  • Glasses / Contacts (if needed – for eye exam)

All Jersey Driving School is proud to do everything for your 16 year old driver. Neither you nor they will need to go to NJ Motor Vehicle for anything to do with the permit. We take care of everything for them (and you!!).

How do I cancel a lesson?

You can cancel your lesson by emailing us at service@allerseydrivingschool.com or by calling our office at 833 35-DRIVE. Reminder: lessons cancelled less than 3 business days prior to the lesson time will incur a $60.00 cancellation fee that must be paid prior to scheduling the make-up lesson.

Taking my NJ Road Test

Do you need a vehicle for the NJ road test? All Jersey Driving School vehicles are road test ready for your use- including backup cameras! Simply choose your timeslot from the calendar on the site. Our vehicle and driver will meet you at your selected location: https://njroadtests.com/

In NJ, the vehicle must have a center console handbrake, cannot have tinted windows, must have current registration, insurance and inspection, cannot have any vehicle maintenance lights showing, must have red decals on the front and rear license plates, and the driver must have a NJ license for the past 3 years and be over 21 years of age. We provide all of that for you; conveniently and affordably!

This NJ Road Test service is offered at both Delanco and Cherry locations. Is your appointment at a different location? Are appointments difficult to get at the location close to you or do you need a different day and time? You can easily change your road test appointment below to advantage of our service and take the road test in one of our ready-to use vehicles:

What is the best package for an Adult Driver?

The Adult Driver Package provides NJ drivers a full 2 hour driving lesson to review all of the skills required by NJ Motor Vehicle including parallel parking and K-turns, and provides use of our NJMVC approved vehicle and driver for your road test-with a refresher lesson immediately prior designed to review the components that need extra practice on your road test day.

Note: Adult lesson time is 10am-2pm only.

When will I drive?

All Jersey Driving School is extremely proud to have NO wait lists for lessons.  Unlike other schools in Moorestown, Delran, Mount Laurel, Cinnaminson and Burlington NJ – your schedule is created within 24 hours of registration and paperwork…. and lessons generally start within 3 weeks time!! Much better than the 60-90 day delay other local driving schools regularly have. In addition, your lessons will be with one instructor and create at your convenience. You control your schedule!

What do I need on the day of my road test?

Thank you for choosing All Jersey Driving School for your NJ Road Test. Whether you are getting a refresher or not – if you are under the age of 18 please have a parent or guardian meet us at the road test location to support the licensing process.

The license is obtained the day of the road test without an appointment – NJ allows you to walk into the licensing center. You must have the necessary 6 points of ID with you at the time of appointment. Unfortunately, if you do not have the appropriate documents, the road test will need to be rescheduled and you will need to register again on our website.

For your convenience: updated rules on 6 points of ID can be found at: https://www.state.nj.us/mvc/pdf/license/Standard_License_Sheet_Engl.pdf   The simple list is: your NJ driver permit, original birth certificate or passport, original social security card and proof of address (bank statement from the last 30 days, school transcript with ID or paystub).  In addition please note that NJMVC will not take cash – so please have a debit or credit card with you for license fees.

All road test services (with or without refresher) are provided from the road test location. No transportation to or from home is provided. The correct addresses are Delanco road test – 400 Creek Road, Delanco/Cherry Hill road test – 617 Hampton Road, Cherry Hill.

Thank you!

Highway Driving

Do students receive highway driving during lesson time? Yes! All students are encouraged to experience highway driving while out on their lesson with the instructor on lessons 2 and 3.

Occasionally a student may be fearful or not have the skillset to fully navigate a highway (ie 295) so highways such as Rt 130, Rt 73, Rt 38 and Rt 70 may be substituted. Traffic, high volume intersections, merging and lane changes are all valuable components of driving.

Conveniently located on Main Street in Moorestown, NJ, All Jersey Driving School can support students in all of South Jersey. Whether in Delran or Maple Shade, Mount Laurel, Pennsauken or Willingboro, All Jersey Driving School can provide lessons before or after school as well as on weekends and in the evening. We work around your schedule and provide convenient automated reminders to make the scheduling process as simple and convenient as possible. Give us a call today!
